Happy New Year from the Team at Caravelair! We hope you have been enjoying your summer break, and enjoying the great outdoors.
For the first newsletter of the new year, we thought it was fitting to focus on our first-time caravan owners, so our Featured Product is our Antares 335 model, the smallest caravan in our range, perfect for those looking to upgrade from a camper trailer or tent. We have also shared an important video explaining how to tow a caravan safely, and explained the process involved in getting your ATM changed.
Remember, we have lots of news and information to share with you every week, so make sure you follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss out on any exciting announcements!
We hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter…and happy travels to you all!
The Antares 335 is the most compact and lightweight caravan in the Antares range. This exceptionally valued 2 berth caravan weighs only 830kgs and is perfect for those quick weekend getaways.
The Antares 335 is deceptively spacious and comfortable. The front section of the caravan houses a large seating area which can be converted into a spacious king-size bed, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
At the rear of the caravan is a fully equipped kitchen as well as a bathroom with a shower and toilet. So if you’re looking to upgrade from a tent but want something compact and easy to tow, the Antares 335 is the most affordable recreational vehicle in Australia.
It is easy to see why this is most popular new small caravans on the market today!
How to Tow a Caravan
With Caravelair being new to the Australian market, many of our customers are first-time caravanners. If you are planning on fixing a caravan to the back of your car, it’s vital that you make sure you know what you’re doing first.
Research commissioned by Nissan found that four out of ten people who tow caravans, trailers or boats have had no training on how to do so. Many also feel that they don’t get any respect on the road from other drivers, with six out of ten saying other drivers treat them without due care, consideration or attention, while 40% say they have felt pressured into taking risks as a result of other driver behavior.
Are you towing for the first time, or just fancy a refresher on how to tow safely? Either way, watch our video, with Tim Shallcross from the Institute of Advanced Motorists and Nissan’s Head of 4×4, Rachael Gregory. They share their tips and advice from how to load, maneuvering whilst towing, hitching and unhitching to making sure your vehicle is powerful enough to tow the caravan (the Nissan X-Trail for example can pull 2200 kg), so that you reach your destination safely.
We have recently received some questions from our customers asking whether their Caravelair can have its Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) increased, and what the process is to have this done.
With the ATM being a critical specification, there are processes which each state and territory have put in place which must be followed in order to have the ATM of your caravan modified.
To assist in your understanding about the approval process to have an ATM increased, we hope you find our article on this topic helpful.
